About Me

Emily Albrecher

M.OT, B.Sc (Integrated Science — Biochemistry & Physiology)

I am an Occupational Therapist dedicated to helping individuals regain independence and participate fully in daily life. I hold a Master of Occupational Therapy and a Bachelor of Science in Integrated Science (Biochemistry & Physiology) from the University of British Columbia.

My practice focuses on working with individuals living with spinal cord injuries, amputations, brain injuries, neurological conditions, as well as supporting the aging population in both community and long-term care settings. I aim to provide practical, individualized solutions that help people function safely and confidently in their everyday environments, with an emphasis on active rehabilitation and meaningful participation in daily activities.

A key focus of my work includes wheelchair prescription, complex seating and positioning, home modifications, and vehicle modifications, helping people find the right equipment and environmental adaptations to support independence and mobility. Having worked as a licensed driving instructor for eight years, I also bring experience with adaptive driving and vehicle accessibility.

In addition to clinical work, I am an instructor at Okanagan College, supporting the education and training of future rehabilitation professionals.

I have called the Okanagan home for the past 14 years and take full advantage of its exceptional outdoor lifestyle. Outside of my professional work, I enjoy cross-country skiing, cycling, trail running, and playing soccer. I am also actively involved in the community, dedicating time to coaching youth sports.
